WebJan 12, 2016 · Looking for a bit of help. I have an 05 Cummins ism when pulling a hill at 70 mph you drop down to 55 or less mph loaded or empty. Also truck shakes in when on the gas particularly in high gears. Also shakes like it's missing or something when idling. Anyone with any ideas on where to start would be be greatly appreciated!! WebMay 23, 2024 · If the engine is overheating, it will log a code, throw a check engine light and derate you. If it is pushing out coolant, then you might be looking a head gasket or more. Exhaust leaks will not really cause overheating. I think you need to look further at what the engine temp is through Insite versus what the dash gauge is reading. WebMar 20, 2024 · Posts: 65.
