Check to see if you have it as it's known to cause this issue. If you do, disable it and get Looksmenu + Looksmenu compendium. It has TH Brows already built in -MINUS- the dark/brown face bug that it causes.

Don't know about other face mods. Also the game will downscale any face textures to vanilla size. You need F4se to force the game to load the textures in their full resolution.
